Air Valves - Pneumatic Valves

2 Way Valves
Electro-magnetically actuated, direct operating, plunger and diaphragm-type valves with soft seals. Most valves are U.L. and C.S.A. listed for media up to 150° F with a normal ambient temperature range of 32° F to 77° F. (some models may differ)


3 Way Valves
Three-way valves are the same as 2-way valves with the addition of a third port for exhausting downstream air. Three-way valves are available in a normally open or normally closed operating configurations. These valves are used to control single acting or spring return cylinders and any load which must be pressurized and alternately exhausted. These valves can also pilot other air operated valves.

4 Way Valves
Four-way valves use two 3-way valve functions operated at the same time, one normally closed and one normally open. These valves have two outlet ports that alternate between being pressurized and exhausted. Four-way valves are used to operate double acting air cylinders, control bi-directional air motors and in air circuitry. Also two single acting cylinders can be operated with one 4-way valve.

Air Pilot Valves
Mead's Isonic® offers valves in 4 way, 2-position configurations, Nova valves are designed to permit complete replacement of all wearing parts in seconds without touching the piping or electrical wiring. Capsula valves work long and hard even when subjected to dirty air. Dura-Matic valves not only control the cylinder direction but also the cylinder rod speed. Light-Touch, snap acting control valves are compact with extremely low actuation forces. MV air switches are identical in size, actuation, and mounting to most industrial electric limit switches.

Air Timers/Timed Delay Relays
Air timers are used to delay the air signal coming in or out of an air component. Depending on the model, the delay may be adjusted from 0.75 to 30 seconds.

Binary Valves
Binary valves are used when you need to convert an electrical signal into a flow of air. 2-way models allow air to flow through the valve when energized. 3-way models allow air to flow through the valve when energized and exhaust when de-energized. Normally closed means inlet air is blocked until the valve is energized. Normally open means inlet air flows through the valve and is blocked when energized.


Check Valves
Check valves are two-port valves, meaning they have two openings in the body, one for fluid to enter and the other for fluid to leave. There are various types of check valves used in a wide variety of applications. 


Directional Control Valves
Features low power consumption, high flow rates, quick response times and clean aesthetic designs. SMC solenoid valves are used extensively in the semi conductor, automotive, packaging, medical, specialty machine, and machine tool industries.

Foot Valves
Foot valves are a type of check valve and are placed at the pump’s wet well. Unlike other valves, a foot valve is created with a larger flow area than the actual pipe size to make sure that there is less head loss. Foot valves are either made of PVC plastic or stainless steel, and they are known for keeping the continuous presence of suction within the pump and usually operated by the foot..


Isolation Valves
Ttypically the first valve following the FRL components in the line supplying compressed air to pneumatic equipment. They are critical components in any safety lock-out/tagout system.

Lock Out Valves/Relieving Shut-Off
Lock out valves provide a method of turning off the air supply. Cleaning or replacing filters, adding oil to the lubricator or other maintenance steps can be made without the air supply present. The valve can also be locked in the “off” position (lock not provided) to prevent accidental pressurizing.


Manual Valves
These valve performs in an on/off or modulating function. Its name is derived from the flow-controlling ball valve located within the body of the valve. A hole through the center of the ball along one axis connects the inlet and outlet ports of the body.


Maximatic® Namur Style Valves
Maximatic® Direct-Acting Valves are single solenoid spring return poppet type valves available as either 2-way or 3-way configurations in ports sizes 1/8” NPT and 1/4” NPT. Hardware to stack multiple valves included with
each stacking valve (MME-3SDS and MME-2SDS).


NAQ Series Quick Exhaust Valve
Quick exhaust valves are used to quickly vent exhaust air at the cylinder ports rather than porting the exhaust all the way back through the valve. They are often used to speed up cylinder operation.


Parker Valves
Parker valve types can be manual, motor actuated or solenoid operated while mounting configurations can be sub-based, in-line or manifold.


Sequencing Pneumatic Valves
There are times when two or more cylinders need to stroke in a planned sequence. With two or more cylinders controlled by a single directional valve, the cylinder with the lowest resistance always strokes first. If the actuator with the least resistance is first in the sequence, the circuit runs smoothly without other valving.
